DO WOMEN MAKE BETTER DECISIONS ABOUT INVESTMENTS THAN MEN ? WELL, IT DEPENDS…
I think some of the data available suggests just that. But people have different opinions on the reasons behind this different attitude towards investing from Women in general.
My take on it is that, Women tend to be more cautious with such important decisions than Men. Usually a women would caution her male counterpart to do a better research and take ample time to do things right. Men sometimes fall victims to the “ME TOO” trap ! “..If my buddies are doing it, it must be the way to go”. From what I can tell, it seems (only seems) that women have a better understanding of the game of investing (if presented with all the data and research), by always playing it safe.
So we can therefore infer that Women behavior is to be emulated during Bull markets when every stock or asset looks hot, because they are more likely to take a step back and look at the fundamentals instead of following the hype.

@OZ,
I know right? But the Surveys and Studies tend to show that it’s actually the case (see links inside post).
May be that’s the reason why women have a better than average rate of repayment on loans. I think the success story of Grameen Bank and their focus on Women would also validate this argument in the developing world.

Bien sur !
La preuve c’est que la femme a toujours tendance a penser au lendemain, au futur. Tres prevoyante en general
